Justice Mary Yu
Justice Yu was appointed to the Washington Supreme Court by Governor Inslee on May 1, 2014, after serving 14 years as a trial court judge in King County Superior Court. She was elected in 2016 for a full six-year term on the Supreme Court. The daughter of immigrant parents, she is the first in her family to receive a college education. She is the first Latina, the first Asian, and first member of the LGBTQ community serve on the Washington State Supreme Court.
