2023 Seventeenth Annual Banquet

MAMA Seattle’s Seventeenth Annual Banquet will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seattle. Each year at the Annual Banquet, MAMA Seattle presents its Betty Binns Fletcher Leadership and Justice Award to an individual who has paved the way to success for, and has served as an inspiration to, other women attorneys striving to excel in their legal careers while balancing family demands.

This year, MAMA Seattle is proud to present Justice Susan Owens with the MAMA Seattle 2023 Betty Binns Fletcher Leadership and Justice Award!

Join us for a time of community, celebration, and inspiration! Pre-event networking begins at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch and our Annual Banquet presentations from 12:00 – 1:15 p.m.

Justice Susan Owens

Justice Owens was elected as the seventh woman to serve on the Washington Supreme Court.  She joined the court after serving nineteen years as a District Court Judge in Western Clallam, five years as the Quileute Tribe’s Chief Judge, and over six years as Chief Judge of the Lower Elwha S’Klallam Tribe.  Justice Owens has served in a variety of leadership roles, both to support important issues for the judiciary and with respect to her passionate advocacy on domestic violence issues that impact children.  Justice Owens succeeded while also parenting her children Sunny and Owen. She is now the proud grandmother of five grandchildren.
